Teacher Appreciation Week April 7-11
PTA will be honoring our teachers & staff all week. Your child's room mom will be doing a few more personal things for your child's teacher. Our school has typically asked for a small donation to help the room mom's do something nice for your teacher to show how much we appreciate all they do. Feel free to send cards or notes of appreciation to our teachers and if possible, your donations will allow for a special gift to be given.
Donut Dates
Each child may invite one adult guest to come to school at 9:15 a.m. and enjoy a donut and 1/2 hour of reading with your child. You may bring your own book, or books will be available from the library. This is once a month and starts with 6th grade and proceeds in reverse order through each grade. Watch the newsletter for dates each month.

Vision Screening
Each year the nurse conducts vision screening for select grades. It will be for K, 1st, 3rd & 5th. It begins at 9:15 and takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. This requires some volunteer help and if you can help, please contact someone in PTA.
PTA fundraiser
The PTA holds one fundraiser each year. This is to help fund, plan and run all PTA sponsored school programs & activities. (See list in PTA section). This is different than the school fundraiser, which is Happenings books. The PTA fundraiser is through QSP/Reader's Digest and offers gifts & magazine subscriptions. The PTA gets a 50% profit from this fundraiser. We know there is a lot of money required of parents at the beginning of the year, but unfortunately we & also the school, need to do fundraisers at this time to get funds to run programs for the rest of the year. We want to remind you that this is the only fundraiser that we do and we hope that the timing is right that you might be able to find some items that can be used as Christmas gifts.
Birthday Table
The PTA wants to recognize each child's birthday during the year. Each month in the lunchroom we will have a day where the children can come up and get a small prize for their birthday. Kindergarten children will have prizes available in their rooms. We will also recognize the summer birthdays - August will be with September, July will be with January & June will be with May. Watch for dates in the newsletter.
Shoppers Cards
If you didn't already know, you can earn money for our school with your Smith's Fresh Values or Albertson's Preferred card every time you shop for groceries. The PTA has papers to help you sign up your card. You can also ask a your cashier to get you set up, so that when you buy your groceries, you'll also be earning money for our school!
Remember that you need to re-sign your card up every year!!
Box Tops
Cut Box Tops off of participating products and send them in to the school with your child. Write your child's name & grade on the back of the box tops for a prize drawing. Two names are drawn each friday and winners are posted in the next month's newsletter. Kids who win can come into the office and pick a prize.
