Principal’s Message

Welcome back to school.  We are excited to begin a new school
year.  We have had a good start with our students quickly getting into
the routine of a new school year.  You have sent us excellent students
who desire to learn and understand the importance of good behavior.
We have a few new rules that I feel need to be explained as we
start the new year.  We do not allow students to wear shoes that have wheels
in the heels.  This type of shoe is dangerous on the playground with the
number of students that we have in our school and the wheel also does
not help with the wax in our hallways.  If students are found with this
type of shoe at school the wheels will be removed and kept in the
principal’s office until a parent comes to school to claim the wheels.
We don’t want skateboards or inline skates at the school either. If
they are removed when they get on the school property we will allow them
for now.  The buses do not allow skateboards.
Because of the number of interruptions in our classrooms, we are
no longer going to call into the classrooms to pass on messages from
parents to their students.  We will only interrupt if it is an
emergency.  Please realize that the secretaries will be asking for your
reason to get a message to your students.  Please make all of your
arrangements on riding the bus or being picked up before your students
come to school.  Please plan ahead so that your students are fully
prepared before they come to school.  Your help in this area is
appreciated.  If you need to check out a student early send a note to
the teacher telling them what time you will need them in the office so
that we do not have to call into the classroom to get your student down
to the office.
I am excited by the new programs that we have in our school.
Our new math program will be effective.  We also have the STARS tutoring
program where parent volunteers work one on one with students that are
struggling with reading.  Our PTA is very active and will be doing great
things throughout the school year.  We appreciate all those who donate
their time to make our school function.  Please feel free to help out
where you see a need.  Thanks for all you do!!  Let’s have a great year.
